Behold, the first robotic kitchen. Moley Robotics created a robot chef concept who does the cooking for you. The company says robotic hands work just as fast as a chef. But how can a robot compare to a chef? It imitates a chef's exact motions and a 3-D recipe recording helps cooking pros share recipes. The robotic hands replicate each motion, nuance and flourish. It's almost like having a live chef in your home. The kitchen will include robotic arms, an oven, and a touchscreen unit. You can operate the whole thing with your smartphone. The best part? It cleans up after itself. The robotic kitchen comes out in 2018.

The most famous storm in the solar system is also one of the largest: Jupiter's Great Red Spot. The storm is just a blemish on Jupiter, but if you compare it to the size of Earth — this storm could swallow our entire planet whole. In July, NASA Juno spacecraft flew over the spot and NASA then used that data to produce a simulated flight through the Great Red Spot. Following is a transcript of the video. 

NASA's Juno spacecraft is orbiting Jupiter. Recently, it flew over Jupiter's famous Great Red Spot. The Great Red Spot is a giant storm 1.3X the size of Earth that's been raging for hundreds of years. As Juno flew over the swirling vortex, it measured the storm's temperature and depth.

NASA then used Juno's data to produce this simulation of what it would be like to fly into this massive storm. The storm is 50 to 100X deeper than Earth's oceans. As you dive deeper into the atmosphere the temperature increases. 

"The warmth of the spot's base explains the ferocious winds we see at the top of the atmosphere," said Andy Ingersoll, Juno co-investigator in a NASA statement.

Wind speeds are greater than Earth's most powerful hurricanes. So, it's best that Juno keep its distance and simply enjoy the view from afar.

Steve Jobs in 2010 was on the stage at the Apple event releasing the iPad and he described it as a wonderful device that brought you educational tools. It allowed you to surf the web, it allowed you to watch videos, it allowed you to interact with other people. And he basically said it’s the best way to do all those things.

Two years later when he was asked “Your kids must love the iPad?” He said “Actually we don’t allow the iPad in the home. We think it’s too dangerous for them in effect.” The reason why he said that was because he recognized just how addictive the iPad was as a vehicle for delivering things to people. That once you had the iPad in front of you, or when you took it away from the home with you, you’d always have access to these platforms that were very addictive. That were hard to resist.

So where his kids were very well adapted, well adjusted, may not have been prime targets for say substance abuse, they like everyone else, are susceptible to the charms of something like an iPad and what it delivers.

SpaceX just passed a huge milestone. The company launched a used spacecraft with a used rocket for the first time ever. Following is the transcript of the video.

The company launched 2 pre-flown rocket parts together for the first time. A used Dragon spacecraft riding on top of a used Falcon 9 rocket.The used Dragon spacecraft is on its way to the International Space Station. It's carrying 4,800 pounds of supplies for astronauts.

After launch, the first stage of the rocket charted a course back to Earth. Welcome home!

The basic purpose of a tape measure is obvious, but it can be hard to get a precise measurement if it isn't used properly. How to read a tape measure — and five surprising hacks. First, let's focus on the numbers. These numbers are inches. In-between each inch are various black dashes. Each gap is 1/16th of an inch. The long middle dash indicates half an inch. But there's much more to a tape measure than just the inches. Don't worry if your tape measure hook moves, it's designed to be loose. It goes in if you push it against something and comes out if hooked, like on a piece of wood.. The movement accounts for the hook's 1/16" thickness. The hole in the hook isn't for decoration. It's designed to latch onto screws and nails. You can even use it to draw circles. Latch on, lock the measure, and hold a pen against the casing. The edges on the hook are also useful. They can be used to make a mark on the wood. The casing is also its own measuring tool. On the back, it will tell you how long it is so you don't have to curl the tape to measure a tight space. Don't underestimate the tape measure as a tool.

How do you make a 100-foot-tall mural? Create a spray painting robot like Estonian inventor Mihkel Joala. He tested out his printer on a chimney in Estonia and the printer can now produce 5 different colors. It dangles against the wall with a wire and a motor pulls it up and down against the chimney.

Meanwhile, a computer automates the spraying. Colored dots and dashes are sprayed onto the surface. Joala created the image of a girl holding a tree with this message: We need more plants and less chimneys. This mural took 14 hours to finish, 30 cans of spray paint and 1.5 million dots of paint. Next, he plans to break the world record for the largest mural.
